The Outlaw Josey Wales (1976): not as visual and artsy as sergio leone's films, but just as entertaining. eastwood is still the same funny, mysterious, kick ass guy, who just wants a little peace and quiet, and to kill a few guys in the process. its a little long, but so much happens in the story that you don't mind it. stuff is always changing so it might seem overwhelming. i'd almost be willing to say that its an epoch western. whatever you want to call it, it is a western and eastwood at its best. buy it.
Beneath the Planet of the Apes (1970): part 2 of the gripping saga. well not really. they should have ended it at the first one. the story is absolutely ridiculous and the special effects are awful since they got so little money to fund this movie. the ending is one of the worst ending i've ever seen. and guess what? they blew up the entire earth, yet somehow managed to make a third one which i'll be watching soon. the acting is decent, but can't make up for the absurdness of the movie. don't see it. and i can tell you right now, don't see any of the other sequels either. i'm not looking forward to them. and don't ask me why i'm bothering with them all. nothing better to do i guess.
Open Water (2004): there were some really tense moments in the movie. i liked how it started out and the plot moved along nicely. in order for a movie like this to be successful, you have to have believable characters and for the most part they were really good. there were some parts that i wondered about, but i think every person might act differently in their circumstance. the sharks freaked the crap out of me and i saw it only on my little tv screen. i bet it would be sweet to see it in a theater. the chick is pretty hot, so of course i gotta give it that. spoiler: as far as the ending goes, i wanted to see the scuba boat people that were responsible get some kind of punishment, like a fatty lawsuit or the death penalty for being retarded or something. i felt like they just got off scott free. and also, was she pulled under at the end by sharks or did she just kill herself? and how did he die? from shock or loss of blood? who knows. anyways, definitely worth seeing i think.

speaking of killing yourself, i'm sure you've all heard by now about the l.a. train that derailed and killed all those peeps because moron decided to kill himself, then changed his mind, but decided to not move the car off the tracks. first of all, if found guilty, we shouldn't give him the death penalty because that is what he wants. life in prison without parole is what i'm hoping for. that's a worse punishment. second of all, this is the really i won't kill myself is because it just screws up everything! never really solves anything and you just cause a mess back home. so word to the wise, don't use commuter trains to kill yourself, don't stab yourself unless you got the balls to go elliot smith style, and make sure you truly have nothing here on earth before you do it.
i got a scholarship yesterday for school this semester. i was so stoked to hear about it cuz i thought i'd have no chance. i applied last fall for a ton of them and sure enough got one from the school of business at my school for full tuition. yippy for me. think i'll celebrate by snowboarding tomorrow. and school is awful right now. first exam today and i haven't studied at all. so wish me luck.
